I moved to New Zealand in 2002 from the Philippines. I was a professional classical ballet dancer for more than ten years. Due to a spine injury, I retired early in 2015 and worked in the hospitality industry as a bartender, manager, and marketing person. I worked long hours, eight to ten hours a day, and most of the time I worked seven days a week for at least four to six months because the restaurant I was working for was short of staff and I had many debts and bills to pay. I helped the restaurant grow to become well-known and profitable, but I got burned out from working too hard.
I felt lost in life. I realised that sometimes life gets so busy that you forget your passions and goals. I was working hard for money without having a life to enjoy. During this time, I discovered that I have a deep desire to find more meaning and purpose in my life. I want to create my breakthrough from being an employee to enjoying life without worrying about not having enough income or having to work long hours to have income so I can live.
So I started searching for other online and offline options that could allow me to create a better income and would not require me to work long hours. It was then that I found this business.
